6/12のパリ支援国会合[1]に向けて、6/4に準備会合を開催。UN・UNAMAは支援国間の協調をアピール[2]。
日本政府は、7月の主要国首脳会議(北海道洞爺湖サミット)も視野に入れつつ、自衛隊派遣検討のための調査団を派遣中[3]。
内戦・治安
パキスタン中央政府−北西辺境州タリバン間の和平交渉は継続中だが、やや暗雲の兆しも[4]。アフガニスタン−パキスタン間で国境管理に関し合意[5]。
アフガニスタン国内の武装勢力との対話路線については、米国の駐アフガニスタン大使が条件付きながらも支持とのコメント[6]。一方、カルザイ大統領は、少なくともあと10年は外国軍駐留が必要との見解[7]。
反政府武装勢力による攻撃は、引き続き後をたたず[8]。
難民・国内避難民
治安悪化の中、バロチスタンからの難民帰還も停滞気味(80%が即時帰還を希望せず)[9]。
民生・援助
6/12のパリ支援国会合に向けて、米国[10]・カナダ[11]・日本[12]など各国から支援表明。
FAOは降水不足による収穫減少をあらためて警告、農業分野への投資を提言[13]。
北部では食糧・水不足による国内避難民も[14]。WFPは米・NATO軍の作戦行動や洪水による内国避難民や、帰還難民に対し、緊急援助を実施中[15]。
